I am sure this question has been asked here before but I am a newbie and we are heading for our 12th trip to SXM the end of the month. I am curious to know if the majority of folks that enjoy being nude around others are also people who are comfortable in the lifestyle. I think this is assumed by many, especially those who come off the ships. If you are naked on a beach, then you are probably a lifestyler or "swinger". We never assume this when we meet folks on the beach, but in doing so, we wonder if we have offended someone by not responding to advances. We are not the type to shut the door on opportunities, but we also just enjoy being naked whether it be on the beach or poolside. We are curious to know what other naked folks feel about the lifestyle and if the two are closely related or not. I realize this was probably not worded exactly how I wanted it to sound and it is NOT intended to offend those who participate or do not participate in the lifestyle.

| naked to me doesn't mean lifestyler. We enjoy being naked on our beach along side hundreds of others. Families, couples, singles, straight and gay. |

| I would say that naked on the beach does not AT ALL equal lifestyler. In fact, this misconception stands in the way of greater acceptance for CO sunbathing and probably is part of the reason that many women may be tentative about trying the CO experience. IMHO. --sxmdoc |

| luv2: Not all lifesylers are nudist but probably a high percentage are. But for sure, not all nudists are lifesylers. Two separate things that often get confused. The commonality between the two are that both are normal and both are honest about their feelings. Neither are hypocrites. Just follow your feelings are be whoever you chose to be . socal |

Good post Socal, we agree too.
For us, we are lifesylers who just happen to like being nude! |

| This will be our 15th vacation to St. Martin. I have been a nudist most of my life and the wife warmed up to it shortly after we were married. She has been naked on vacations ever since. I have always wanted to explore the 'lifestyle' and I am happy to say that the wife is 'warming' up to that also. We have been to a few 'house' parties. So, we are nudists and are working her way into swinging.... |

I don't agree that a high percent are lifestylers. I'd like to see actual data not off a forum to demonstrate that. I've only met a couple that were (we're not).
Yes, asking naturists if they are swingers is likely to offend the non-swingers. Assuming naturists are swingers is harmful to naturism overall and retards the expansion and acceptance of naturism by the general community. That being said, any type of sex flaunted in public, hetero, gay, group whatever, all harm naturism. Naturism is not about sex at all.
If you want to find swingers places like forums/internet is your better bet and meet at the location. Some swingers think randomly asking is not offensive because to them it would not be (called 'halo' effect when you assume others act, think, or respond as you would). The fact this could make it harder for swingers to find playmates is really not the problem of the family naturist group.
I have friends who are and are not swingers. I don't really care and figure its none of my business. I certainly don't have to agree with someone to like them and the world would be a total nightmare if everyone thought the same way. |

Personally we would say that most naturalists are not swingers but swingers are attracted to nudist resorts and beaches.
Our own experience's are in Caliente and Paradise Lakes in Florida, both resorts do have an active swingers scene, but this is the minority (although quite a large vocal minority lol). Officially both managements do not promote this as not to offend their larger percentage of naturalist clients but at the same time they do not stop or ban swingers!
Meeting up with other swingers at these resorts is arranged on internet forums and swingers sites including a few dedicated to Caliente and PL, their is a large group of swingers who are regulars at both resorts with parties arranged on a near weekly basis, this is also helped with the Nightmoves II and Tantra swingers clubs in the Tampa area. (sadly Nightmoves is no more)
For us many a great time was had with friends at Caliente and PL, we would arrange a long weekend of fun staying at either resort, which would regularly include a night at a Tampa club too.
Anyway, swingers including ourselves do get attracted to nudist resorts, beaches etc, but to asume that just because we are swingers then everyone else that is naked is too would be wrong.
Perhaps a big sign hung somewhere on the body would help us to instantly see who is a swinger :) |

| Know I am not smart enough to think of this, well maybe I am. Why not have a symbol indicating you are in the lifestyle. A piece of jewelry indicating you are in the lifestyle. I realize most swinger are discrete in this venture, but then sometimes it pays to advertise. I have done a little search for a universal symbol, and there does not appear to be one. This may be my ticket to fame and fortune, so lets hear your ideas for a symbol for swingers. My gut response is a humming bird, or two, indicating the desire to taste the nector. Different metal could be used to indicate the level of interests. Sterling silver for beginners, gold for experienced folks. What u think? steve |

| Wonderful idea Steve. I know that in the "hotwife" / cuckold world there is jewelery women wear (anklet I beleive) that indicates their willingness and ability to play with who they please. I am very surprised that there is not a universal symbol for swingers to wear. I would suggest a bracelet that both men and woman could wear. It would help to indicate not only that the person was a swinger, but whether they were bi sexual or not. Get to work on that Steve. |
