| Message: | We are planning our second trip to St Martin for November. We stayed at the Alamanda last year and loved it. They don't have any second floor rooms available because we waited to late to book. My husband likes to have an oceanview room so we are now looking at L'Hoste since they have third floor rooms available. It looks like L'Hoste only has bathtubs in their rooms. Do the tubs have a hand held shower nozzle on them? I have long hair and I am concerned about maneuvering under the spigot of a tub to rinse it out. It may seem like an odd question but having to go through gymnastics in the tub is not my idea of a great vacation. It would ease my mind to know that there is at least a hand held shower nozzle to help out. The Alamanda has a first floor room open that has a shower and a tub. Also, is L'Hoste generous with towels if you ask for extra? Is topless sunbathing permitted on the L'Hoste beach are? Can anyone compare Alamanda to L'Hoste or give us pros and cons on which you would choose? Our Pros for L'Hoste - The beach area looked wider than the Kakao area which is where Alamanda's guests go. - We thought it might be fun to stay in a different hotel and go to different beach bars than last year. - We can get a third floor room, have a nice view and sit out on our balcony having wine and cheese. Our Pros for Alamanda: - We had a great time there last year and felt pampered when we were there. - We know and like the quality of the rooms. - The staff was first rate. - Topless sunbathing was permitted on their beach section. I would appreciate any feedback on your stays at L'Hoste. I did a search but would like a comparison to the Alamanda.
