Subject:  BACK HOME
Message:  Just got back Thursday. First rule we had was never to leave on Monday and now we have a new rule never book 7 nights or less it is tooooooooooo short.
Stayed on Orient at COCO. We have never been in February and the locals were saying that Jan and Feb were unusual for them. First 2 days were cloudy and rainy. I mean no sun. It then changed to the normal beautiful weather. Orient beach has filled back in with sand compared to November. In front of Baywatch and that whole area they had 3 or 4 rows of chairs between the restaurants and the water. The water was steps away in November.
FOOD: We were sent to a great new restaurant in Grand Case. Le Ti'Provencal owner/chef is Herve Sageal from Monaco. It is on the water side tucked back in across from Le Pub and Little France. Just down from the Lolo's. The food is french, prices are reasonible and great. Very good wine selection in the $20's for a bottle of very usual small provencial wines. There is only about 9 tables, quaint and romantic right on/over the water. The tourists have not found it mostly locals. Just opened 2 months ago. Highly recommend it.
New restaurant in Orient Village called Le Chapparell. It is next to Cote Plage. We did not have time to eat there but was told it was good. We looked in and it is like a pub with beligum type food and has pool tables. Somebody go try it. We will next trip.
Esmeralda: Question about #55. We wandered up there and the building looks the same plants grown up around the pool. However, there are new apartments/condos underconstruction behind this whole area, they are two stories. It appears that the privacy will still be there won't be able to really tell until they are done.
COCO an Unbiased report: Almost all new staff, but great as usual.
The beach boys are Bernard, Nicholas and Max. Some of you may know Max, he has been at COCO for several years in the kitchen and wanted a chance to move and work the beach. They are giving him a chance. He will be good just needs to get comfortable in the role (beware he looks like a young Joseph). The new beach staff are not use to the extras we were use to so we need to let them know what we want. Example: Usually you sit in a chair and say see you tomorrow your chair will be saved for you. Incident occurred a couple sat in chairs one day and signed check and left. Never said they were returning tomorrow and would like same spot. The chairs were not reserved and some else sat in them. Incident occurred, the beach boys felt terrible but did not know they would be back the next day. Assumptions were made. They don't know our quirks. Just remember this, communiate with them and no problem. Like I actually had to order my drink at 3pm, it didn't show up automatically. They were good at keeping an eye out for roving camera and actually ran some off while we were there. Water was about 3-4 degrees colder.
Tim/Sylvia will send person note on loula.
What did I forget?
Guess need to work on next trip
