A New Road To Club Orient After 30 years (seemed longer) of bouncing down the road, the new President of the Collective of St. Martin, Mr. Frantz Gumbs promised in November that the access road to Club Orient would be completely replaced.
Club Orient General Manger, Stephen Payne, quoted President Gumbs as saying, Club Orient is very important to our island and we will do whatever we can to help insure your resorts continued success. This sentiment was echoed by other government officials present at the meetings to discuss the 300,000 Euro improvement project for our entrance road. In addition to the new road, the project will also include streetlights, clearing of land on both sides and regular maintenance.
True to his word, the work has already begun with the old surface already removed and the forms are now in place for the pouring of new concrete. This road has been a real challenge to navigate for years and to see it being replaced and to hear the kind words from the government was especially gratifying.
