Other than Club Orient, is there other clothing optional lodging? House rentals near Club O or Villa?
Also, how far is Club O from the airport and what is the best method for getting to Club O other than car rental?

Not sure about a nude resort other than Club O on the island. Just take a cab from the airport. The time depends on traffic, I guess average is about 1/2 hour. If I remember correctly the cost was $30, check with the driver before you leave.

| There is Club Fantastico which is located above Orient Beach, they have a shuttle to the beach. At Oyster Pond there is a guest house also. Oyster Pond is about 10 minutes from Orient Beach. Taxi ride from the airport can take up to an hour depending on the time of day. |

| If price is the issue you could stay at one of the hotels on orient beach and walk to Club O each day. You can rent your chair each day and use the facilities for a fee. Check out the club O website. But once you do this you'll want to stay there, it sucks to have to put clothes back on. |

| Thanks for the advice. We will likely stay at Club O, which will be our first trip there. Of course we are going in Janurary (the high season) and you couple that with the weak dollar, it is costly. But I am sure it is worth it. The beach looks incredible and long. We are both runners and like long beaches. We hope this will become a regular desitination for us. |

Cab ride yesterday..........$40, paid more with more than two people, we use the Club O car rental people.......new big secret deal, pay cash......their Euro charge is USD, don't know if it is the cheapest or not, I like the people meeting us off the plane and go right from the airport.
Here now, wonderful day, water warm, the beer is cold, tried a odd german beer with vanilla/ banana/ chocolat finish to it, wierd but oddly tasty.
the wife is calling.........

We rent a great villa (huge!, semi-private pool, kitchen, 3 bedrooms,\
etc. right behind the beach bars - we're nude all the time and pay a lot
less than a hotel or Club O. |

villa "Joie de Vie" - walk to orient beach, it's just a few steps from the villa. |

You can be nude at my villa too..Plage d'Elan, however it depends on what you want.......
Pro-Villa or off Club O
If you have an intact group and are not nec. looking to socialize,
Don't mind getting dressed to go to the beach, go to eat etc.
spend the evenings at the casino etc.
Pro-ClubO
Want to avoid the hassles of driving/ walking to the nude section of the beach
Want to hang out with other people you don't know........this is the biggest advantage of ClubO versus other places, people staying at my villa don't usaully meet other people, we stayed at LaPlantation twice and never met a single soul,
don't need three bedrooms
ClubO is in theory safer as it has more security around and the non-guests are easier to identify, nothing though is absolute
there are other advantages and disadvantages, the new resorts in SXM are really hurting, we support our ClubO property more than our villa property since we understand that as goes ClubO as a viable entity so goes the nude part of the beach, without Club O around OB is just another textile beach and Dannan and I will suffer accordingly...........that is an argument for another thread

You're right and I thought the same thing today regarding the need to support Club O or we risk losing the beach. Also, you're right about not meeting people as easily when you stay off the property.
Club O is actually very cost competitive with the other resorts on Orient Beach and with other clothing optional resorts in the Carribean. The problem is the weak dollar. Americans have to pay 35% more than Europeans.

Isn't my indoor Helo powered sauna great!
Should be about 80C in about 35 minutes from now.......Mrs. Olaf (Silja) is still on the island however, damn!
Remember in a northern European sauna, you have to have a towel between any part of you and the wood, including your feet, so typically you spread out the towel from the seat below you up to your seat, or like on my avatar under you and you lie on the small tilted headrest. Now note you only usually have one towel. Saunas are best when you invite friends over. My wife has picturesque friends
I'm a lucky man to have such a wonderful Sauna (Bastu in Swedish)
