Sorobon Beach Resort

Sorobon Beach Resort is a naturist resort situated on the Caribbean island of Bonaire, gently cooled by the constant trade winds. A shallow bay is protected by a barrier reef, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing. The resort has the only nudist beach on the island, completely private, equipped with shelters made of palm tree branches and beach chairs. Guaranteed all over sun tanning! Above all things, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Sorobon offers the privacy and relaxation of a quiet, casual atmosphere, which will not be disturbed by TV, radio, telephone or air conditioning. Both old time naturists and first timers feel at home in this family oriented resort.

Sorobon Beach Resort fulfills an important function -- it enables you to recharge your emotional batteries, to communicate with nature and get away from 'civilization' with its traffic problems, junk mail, TV, etc. You will feel refreshed, restored and rested physically and mentally. Bonaire - Information

The island of Bonaire has set an example in the Caribbean with its dedication to nature conservation. One fifth of the island is a National Park, where thousands of flamingoes and numerous other birds and animals are being carefully protected. The island is surrounded by coral reefs in a beautiful clear sea.

Bonaire is a drivers paradise. There are more than 70 beautiful place to dive and to snorkel. This colorful underwater world is strictly protected by the local authorities: no anchoring, no spear fishing, no water or jet skiing and it is even forbidden to touch the corals.

The climate of Bonaire is delightful and constant. Sunshine all year round, with temperatures ranging from 82° F to 89° F, practically no difference between day and night. Water temperature 80° F. Bonaire is part of the Netherlands Antilles, situated 50 miles north of Venezuela and has only 12,000 inhabitants. The island has a modern airport and is within easy reach by air from Europe and North and South America.

Maid service every day, except on Sunday (no dishes). Please leave your house to make it possible for the maid to clean efficiently.

THE NUDE AREA

You can relax and walk around nude everywhere in the resort, inside the fence and in the bay in front of the resort. Clothing is optional everywhere as well. Because of the naturist character of the resort we prefer nudity at least on the beach and in our swimming area.

DIVING

Bonaire belongs to the Top 3 of best diving areas. The island is known for its beautiful coral reefs and colored underwater life. Ask for information at the front office about diving courses, air-fill, underwater photography, etc. We are can introduce you to Bonaire's underwater world.

CORAL REEF

Behind the second raft in the bay is a reef where you can have a beautiful snorkeling time. Sorobon guests can take out snorkel gear; $2.50 a day, $10 a week. It is legally forbidden to touch the coral. Please abide by these Bonarian laws that protect nature!

WINDSURF CENTER AT SOROBON

The latest models. Undisturbed on-shore trade wind, the ideal windsurf location. More information at the front office. Textile only.

FREE SHOPPING TRIP

At about 9.30 a.m. to the supermarket in town. Check the front office to make arrangements or put your name on the green board.

WATER

The water on the island is pure and safe to drink, but costly. All taps in the resort give purified sea water. The drip system gives recycled water.

SHOWER

The warm water taps and the showers give solar heated water. There is also a cold shower near the beach.

LIBRARY

In the restaurant; feel free to take any book or magazine, or bring one- take one.

VIDEO PLAYER

In the lounge, documentaries and films available, No TV.

ELECTRICITY

110 and 220 Volt 50 cycles. If you want to use equipment over 200 Watts, please ask the front office first. From time to time power is shut off to service the generators.

FOR SMOKERS ONLY

When you are on the beach, please put cigarettes in the ash tray.

We can pick you up or bring you to Flamingo airport on request.

Situated in the southern Caribbean, Bonaire is part of the Netherlands Antilles, and as such, is considered as much a part of The Netherlands as Holland. It is located in what was known as the "ABC's" -- which was composed of the islands of Aruba (which became a Dutch protectorate in 1986), Bonaire and Curacao. The location, just north of the South American coast, provides protection for Bonaire from most of the Atlantic hurricanes, since it's southern position is out of the path of most hurricanes spawned in the Atlantic.
